Welcome to Chinchillas-Northwest.com
We are a hobby breeder of Standard and Mutation chinchillas, located in
Pacific, Washington. About 20 minutes northeast of Tacoma. Like many Chinchilla breeders, I started out intending on just
having one. Little did I know the chin bug would bite me. Now I can't imagine not having all of them. It's been a delight
learning the Chinchilla experience.
Chinchillas make wonderful pets as they are small, easy to keep, odorless animals.

Chinchillas come from the snow covered Andes mountains of South America. In the 16th century, the spanish, after conquering
South America, discovered these amazing creatures and took them back to Europe.
The Europeans were fascinated with chinchillas and soon their pelts were more sought after than mink or fox. But it takes
about 100 pelts to make one chinchilla coat, so only the very rich could afford them.
Besides, just look at that face! Isn't she just adorable?
